South Sarasota

Center Gate
Conveniently located just south of bustling Bee Ridge Road, Center Gate offers residents charming, ranch-styles homes. Currently undergoing a transformation as more young families move to this neighborhood, many homes are being updated to better suit today’s active lifestyles.

Phillippi Gardens
A good buy among houses on boating water, residents here enjoy pristine, deep water about ten minutes by boat to the Intracoastal Waterway. With a character all its own, no two houses are alike on the same street and they are all curved in order to enhance the ambience.

Southpointe Shores
Located south of Stickney Point and west of the Trail, this waterfront community offers a range of options and prices. Many of the older homes on the water have been replaced by larger homes and some of them feature spectacular bay views.

The Landings
Bordered by Sarasota Bay and Phillippi Creek, this gated community is one of Sarasota’s most popular newer communities. You can choose from a variety of condominiums as well as single-family homes, that are just moments away from schools, shopping, Siesta Key Beach, The Landings Racquet Club and Sarasota’s finest restaurants.

Oyster Bay
Centered around the Field Club, Oyster Bay is one of Sarasota’s oldest and most venerable private clubs. A small area of distinguished homes situated just west of Tamiami Trail, between Hansen Street and Kimlira Lane, this community features classic Old Florida-style homes along with executive residences and a few mansions as well, most of which are situated along the bay.

This active beach community is located along the Gulf of Mexico some 50 miles south of Tampa and offers residents incredible ocean views, access to world-renowned fishing, boating and snorkeling and affordable real estate opportunities in attractive, friendly neighborhoods. With its tree-lined streets, vast expanses of untamed parkland and mild tropical climate, South Sarasota and its nearly 5,000 citizens are privy to some of the finest amenities and recreational opportunities in all of Florida.

South Sarasota caters to people of all ages. With the recent influx of young families to the area, South Sarasota has done an incredible job in building new schools and parks and developing other open areas to accommodate the influx of young children and teenagers. For senior citizens and active adults, the area as a whole and its many open parklands provide excellent opportunities for hiking, biking and other nature related past times in addition to the obvious water sports available in this waterfront community.

Sarasota is home to several championship golf courses including the soon to be opened Ritz Carlton golf course and the Founders Club. Known as the cultural gem on the suncoast, Sarasota also offers museums, theatres, performing arts centers, concert halls, art galleries and it’s own ballet company. Several festivals, parades, outdoor concerts, carnivals, galas, charity drives and other community celebrations fill this city’s social calendar each and every year. Also, state parks such as Myakka River Park and Oscar Scherer Park, with over 30,000 acres of land combined, make for great wilderness outings where locals can enjoy bird watching, biking, walking, camping or just communing with Florida’s natural setting of palmetto brush and towering pine trees.

Affordable housing is available in every part of town and there seems to be at least one park for each neighborhood. South Sarasota is a very safe community that blends well with the local bustling tourism industry. The constant influx of visitors into the area has spurred growth and stimulated the economy to the point where monies earned from tax revenues are now being reinvested and pumped back into the city at record rates. This has resulted in a tremendous beautification movement that has the city, its beaches and its downtown district looking as brilliant as ever.

Popular Florida destination cities are not far from Sarasota, making weekend trips to vacation hot spots such as Miami, Orlando and Tampa accessible for local residents. Disney World is a two-hour drive while the ritzy allure of Miami Beach is a little less than four hours away by car. Major interstates are the I-95 and US Highway 41. These access roads connect Sarasota to the rest of the state and make commuting easier for those traveling to outside cities for employment. Sarasota has its own international airport, the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), which is located at the intersection of US HWY 41 and University Parkway, a short 20-minute drive for those living in South Sarasota.

South Sarasota is a beautiful place to call home. So, come join the other Floridians who treasure the peaceful living and stunning natural beauty this gulf coast community offers.
